Paradigm Shift - Continued

Deliberating on the concept of  the ‘Frame of Reference’ according to the ‘General Theory of Relativity’ it is indeed an irony to analyze how different individuals perceive this world in different ways. At one point of time, I used to get tremendously charged up when people used to express contradictory opinions even on trivial issues like the value of time in life. Being an ardent believer of freedom and liberty in all walks of life and as championed by the theory of democratic communism, I used to animatedly oppose the infliction of any enforced opinion. Consequently, I used to hit out at any individual who worked according to the whims of others. It was the time, when I was getting highly inspired by the theory of free thinking and liberation of the mind. But with maturity, I have realized that one really cannot judge others by staying in his/her own domain. In order to appreciate the other person’s opinions, it is absolutely necessary to put on the other person's shoes and look through his/her glasses.

Also I have comprehended that there is nothing called positive or negative. It all depends on which side of the benchmark a person is standing, based on which he/she makes his inference. We need to appreciate the fact that, we cannot jump into value judgments all the time; rather we need to take a fuller approach to life which is based on a inclusive perspective. But, unfortunately, we always try and prove ourselves right on the face of others and fight to prove our superiority. The standard excuse that we have for doing this is the presence or absence of logic forgetting the fact that life cannot be rationalized and hence cannot be explained with the help of logic. Life in itself exists and is breathtakingly beautiful because of its enormous diversity and the tremendous irrationality it exhibits in its functioning. But then again, my opinion might be contradicted by someone who might be reading this blog and this is how life sustains. I believe, I have penned down my thoughts and life in a reasonable way for others to understand. This blog is not supposed to offend anyone but to make people realize the beauty of diversity.

Really well put, Sunayan. The details in this blog constitute a lot of what I have also learnt with time. However, I can't say that I can always hold value judgements, or empathise/comprehend others' situations as much as I want to. But I think I will keep trying :)

Thanks Deepali for the reassuring comments. I do know that sometimes, really you cant help but arrive at value judgements.

Ohh Sunayan... that was truth written and it kept me hooked till the end. I am already impressed by the mail you sent to UKC sir, but never knew that you maintain a blog, till Dpli told me. Now when I saw you following my blog, gt a chance to read it too.
Wow, what a feeling ! Here am not opposing you, since I think you have changed yourself the way most of us thought you needed to. As a journalist, it's really required to listen to opinions, accept it to an extent and then debate rather than argue. Great going.
My grandfather too was a staunch communist, a Kathakali artist and etc, who sacrificed all he had, cash, land etc for the betterment of the party & the people. He wanted my dad too to be a party worker like him. Though Dad treasured and still is a strong supporter, he decided to study further, thus getting a job. He still doesn't agree that communism is obsolete. Neither do I ! They need to only change according to the times. As I read yesterday, land reforms were a failure in every state in India, except in Kerala & WB and the divide between urban & rural is simply too less in Kerala, even minus the industries. Communists have a lot more to do, but their interests deviated in the midddle. Rather than being with the agricultural workers & labourers, I believe they tried to balance the honchos and the workers, ultimately losing out on a lot from the core of their ideology itself.lets see what is in store... Good writing skills and keep writing.

I can appreciate the attempt not just of the blog, but of the continuity from 1st to the 2nd .. I have tried it in my blog and let me confess its is difficult to live to the standards set by your own self ..

Though I started reading expecting something else .. but then I realized its your perspective .. viewing a movie from Ray's perspective is different than viewing the movie from Freud's perspective .. though its written in typical Sunayan style .. but i would like to see shoter sentences (My perspective)
